Peachy's Real Brides....Kerry's Autumn Wonderland

Greetings reader!

Well, the Spring and Summer seasons appear to have passed by in the blink of an eye and I’m still no better at keeping up with this blog space of mine! Completely my fault - I love writing and it’s often the thing I have no time to do in amongst my work and family life!

Anyway, one of the things I have always loved writing about are my real brides. I feel incredibly lucky to have such a wonderful tribe of brides to be and their parties to work with. As someone who had a bit of niche when it comes to hair and make up, I find that each of my brides is unique in their tastes and how they want to look on their big day; from the natural to the vintage themed and beyond. Kerry was no different in that respect.

Just over a year on since her perfect, autumnal wedding day, I decided to share some gorgeous pics to inspire any autumn brides out there - mostly because THAT flower crown was giving me life from the trial onwards.

I first met Kerry at a wedding fayre, and her biggest concerns were that she didn’t live locally, though was getting married in Nottingham and that she would not be able to find a good hairstyle for her beautiful, natural curls. Being a hairdresser can come into its own when dealing with curly hair, you’re a little more apt to deal with the hair in its natural state and I personally love celebrating a natural curl with a styling that really suits it!

We trialled Kerry’s hair and make up, by which point she had decided to go for a real flower crown and wanted her hair to work around it. Trialling without the crown was a bit of a challenge, but we created something that would be easy to pin into place with the idea of the crown sitting on the top of a curled and tousled roll, with an emphasis on defining the curls and making sure the hair didn’t feel ‘scraped back’.

On the day of the wedding, we had an early start over at Kerry’s mum’s house but her bridal party were so incredibly welcoming and there were pastries galore for everyone. Having seen sneak peeks of Kerry’s dress, I was so excited to see the entire look come together. And Kerry did not disappoint! She looked every inch the autumn bride with her beautiful floral crown and that dress was the most amazing material!

For make up, we used subtle dark browns with a red tone to work alongside the burnt oranges and deep colours in her flower arrangements, keeping the look fairly natural and finishing with a beautiful brown-based nude lip colour.

Autumn is my favourite time of year and it was such a pleasure to put Kerry’s look together - an all round gorgeous lady! Happy anniversary to Kerry and Ben!
